This website started with our book Vernacular - The Everyday Landscape of New Zealand (Potton and Burton, 2015) as a place to catalogue and promote the process of making the book. We have since revived the site as we undertake another multi-year project looking into New Zealand’s varied natural landscapes (and how their diversity is reflected in our flora). We use this website to document our adventures in a slightly ad-hoc manner by the way of notes and observations we encounter along the way. It is a site for research and reflection. We will be updating the Landscape section more frequently as we continue our work on this book project.
